What I’ve been Loving/Not Loving on Netflix

Hi everyone!

Today I thought I’d go through some of my favourite series on Netflix, and also not-so-favourite series. If you don’t know what Netflix is (I’m sure you do..) it is a subscription to stream hundreds of movies and TV series, it is life. It’s like $12 a month, it is so worth it. I would also strongly advise getting Spotify to stream music, paid or not-paid! Alrighty, lets get on with the series I’ve been loving/hating.

13 Reasons Why
Holy shit. Wow. This would have to be one of the most amazing and incredible television series I have ever watched. So much emotion in this and it can get very dark at times, but it is done extremely well. I was completely glued to the TV while watching this. I even got my boyfriend into watching it and he said it was one of the best TV series he has seen. You just have to watch it for yourself. I will warn you, it gets quite depressing, so if you are triggered by this I would suggest not to watch it. The show follows teenager Clay, into trying to discover why his crush and school mate, Hannah, decided to end her life.

I heard a lot of people talking about this series online, and on YouTube and I thought I’d give it a shot. It seemed like my sort of show anyway – drama, murder and mystery. I enjoy watching this as you never really know what is going to happen next. It is based around Archie and his friends, and what they discover in exploring the small town Riverdale and what darkness the town holds. If you haven’t given it a watch already, I suggest you do so to see what you think! They are currently uploading new episodes weekly.

Stranger Things
It’s a no from me, surprisingly and unfortunately. I watched the whole first season of it and didn’t enjoy it at all. I did give it a shot and that is what counts. I’m not a fan of Sci-fi or fantasy (I absolutely LOVE Harry Potter though), so I did have a feeling I wouldn’t like this. It is about a young boy disappearing, and all the people closest to him, plus the police have to confront terrifying things to get him back. A lot of people absolutely love this series, it just wasn’t for me, and I will not be watching season 2.

So I watched about half of the first episode, I really tried to give this a chance, but I just knew I wouldn’t enjoy it, so I stopped before I got to far. Not a favourite from me, but I know Brogan Tate (YouTuber) loves this show as she has mentioned it a few times in her videos. It is about two of America’s wealthiest families as they try yo gain control over their fortune as well as their children.

I know Skins has been out for quite a number of years now, but it will always be a goodie. It just has so much drama and emotion it’s hard to stop watching. Every character has their own episode which I think is awesome. The characters change every 2 seasons, and they all mesh in with one another which is cool. Though, they can never beat the first, original set of characters. It is the story of groups of British teenagers who are trying to find love, grow up and find happiness. It sounds much more appropriate than it actually is. It contains lots of swearing, drug use, sex and violence. Such a good show to watch, definitely watch this without your parents around though, just a warning!

This is a bit of a different type of series, but very entertaining all the same! It is about a teen who has Asperger’s Syndrome and has decided it is time to get a girlfriend, which is much more difficult than it sounds for Sam. His mother also goes on her own life changing journey as her son starts gaining independence. This show helps you to put you in someone else’s shoes. I haven’t finished this series yet, but so far I am thoroughly enjoying it.

The End of the F***ing World
I have to say, the description of a lot of movies and series on Netflix are shit, and half the time shows end up being so much better than you thought they were going to be. I have to say for this one, as soon as I read the title I thought ‘yep, I’m watching this!’ and binge watched the whole season in a warm afternoon on a Saturday. They only have 1 season out so far, but I have heard there is more to come which is awesome. It follows a teenager, James, who believes he is a psychopath, and Alyssa, who is using James as an escape from her home life. She has no idea that James is a little ‘different’.

This is all I have for today guys and girls! Let me know below what TV series and movies you’re loving at the moment! I would love to watch some more stuff!

See you in my next blog post,

Chelsea x
