My Nighttime Skincare Routine

Hi everyone, I hope you are all having a fab week! For this post I thought I would go through my current skincare routine! I am pretty good at keeping up with this, though I tend to focus more on my skin at night, rather than in the morning. So I’m going to go through with you what I usually do at night when it comes to my skin.

Washing off my make-up

Literally the best feeling, when you’ve been at work all day, come home, get straight into your pyjamas and wash off your make-up! I am currently using Simple Cleansing Make-Up Wipes to get off the majority of my make-up. These work great, but they don’t remove all of your make-up, so I like to use something else to get the rest off, so for this I use Palmer’s Creamy Cleanser & Make-Up Remover. I have been using this for years, as it seems to work really well for me. As you can tell by the name, it combines as a make-up remover, as well as a cleaner. You just put a small amount on slightly damp skin and lather in, then wash off.

Exfoliating (every second night)

Usually every second night, I use an exfoliating facial scrub to help remove dead skin, and also help with pimples, as I am still prone to getting them, sigh. I swap between two products – St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub & Biore Baking Soda Acne Scrub. I used to use Palmer’s Micro Fine Exfoliating Facial Scrub, but I have recently moved on. It works great, at the moment I’m just trying to discover news things to see what I like.

At the moment, after I remove my make-up & cleanse, I always make sure to moisturise. At night, I like to use a special nighttime moisturiser that keeps your skin soft & fresh while you sleep. Right now I am using Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Night Cream Moisturiser. I really like this, it soaks into your skin quite quick, and you don’t need much of it, as a little goes a long way.

Since being a teenager, my Mum always told me that I should use eye cream, to help with wrinkles, dark circles, and the skin in general as you grow up, as it will keep it looking better for longer. I go between two eye creams – Simple Regeneration Eye Cream & Ego QV Face Revitalising Eye Cream. Whenever I am shopping to top up my skincare, I always get whichever is one special.

The last very important step to my nighttime skin care routine, is moisturising my lips. I end my routine by putting on Vaseline or Paw Paw Ointment. I find I get really dry lips throughout the day, and night, so it is very important for me to keep them moist.

Thank you for reading this, let me know in the comments what your favourite skin care products are! I would love to know!

All of these products are very affordable, I’m not one for spending a whole heap on skin care, or make-up really. I am more likely to splurge on make-up rather than skin care though.

Talk in my next post!
