This week we have a pretty crazy book that I came across on Apple iBooks. Do you rather read books from a kindle/iPad, or physically? Let me know in the comments below! I am fine with either really!
Straight away I can tell you I really enjoyed this book! Book of the week 24 is..
Someone Else’s Daughter by Linsey Lanier
Miranda Steele is a smart and very strong female character who can’t stay in the same location for very long. She is always constantly travelling around and going from job to job. Years ago her daughter was given up for adoption by her abusive ex-husband, completely without her permission.
One day she received a letter from a girl looking for her birth mother, Miranda thinking that this could possibly be her daughter, heads to Atlanta where the letter came from to start searching.
Along her search, she finds something she was never expecting to find, and now there is an open murder investigation within the town. She just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, and was now the top suspect of the murder.
During her short time in prison, she meets Wade Parker, an extremely wealthy individual who is the owner of an investigation agency. Miranda finds out he is also an eligible bachelor, and finds him very handsome with his ‘salt and pepper hair’.
Wade Parker ends up offering Miranda a job as he believes she is very capable of helping out in this fresh murder case. This could help her find her daughter!
There’s fights, murder, friendships, romance and drama all squished into this book.
I actually loved reading this. It is great to find such a strong female character, though I think she was a little too strong at times, but her emotions do show eventually. I liked Wade Parker, he came across as such a friendly and helpful person. Despite the many mixed reviews on this book, I really liked it, and if you’re into crime/mystery/romance then I think you will enjoy it too!
I give this one a 9/10!
