This weeks book is like nothing I have read before. I wasn’t too sure about this one, but I thought I would give it a go, and boy was I pleasantly surprised!
This weeks book is…
A Dogs Way Home by W. Bruce Cameron

“Lucas Ray is shocked when an adorable puppy jumps out of an abandoned building and into his arms. Though the apartment he shares with his mother, a disabled veteran, doesn’t allow dogs, Lucas can’t resist taking Bella home.
Bella is inexplicably drawn to Lucas, even if she doesn’t understand the necessity of games like ‘No Barks’. As it becomes more difficult to hide her from the neighbours, Lucas begins to sneak Bella into the VA where he works. There, Bella being joy and comfort where it is needed most.
After Bella is picked up by Animal Control because pit bulls are banned in Denver, Lucas has no choice but to send her to a foster home until he can figure out what to do. But Bella, distraught at the separation, doesn’t plan to wait. With four hundred miles of dangerous Colorado wilderness between her and her person, Bella sets off on a seemingly impossible and completely unforgettable adventure home.”
This book was wonderfully beautiful. Throughout the entire story, you are seeing everything from Bella’s eyes. As I said, like nothing I have ever read before!
Bella sets off on a huge adventure, and you follow her every step. This book was written very well and it was easy to read and understand.
Bella was originally a stray puppy, until Lucas found her and gave her a home. He teaches her tricks and gives her lots of treats. Bella loved to do ‘Go to Work’ where she would give comfort and happiness to sick people.
This book is so unique, and I can’t wait to see the movie. If it is anything like the book, it would be a great watch.
If you’re a dog/animal lover, and love an adventure, than this is one for you.
The genre of this one is fiction, animals and adventure.
