Current Work Make-Up Routine

Hi everyone, and welcome to another beauty related post! I don’t think I have actually done one of these before…. always something new and different coming up on my blog! So anyway, I start work pretty early so I really try and cram in some time to put some make-up on. I maybe spend 15-20 minutes doing it, depending on the day. Some of my products vary as it depends what I’m feeling like using. I am by no means a make-up expert. The order I do my make-up in is as follows:

  • Base
  • Foundation
  • Concealer
  • Powder
  • Eyebrows
  • Eye Primer
  • Bronzer
  • Blush
  • Highlighter
  • Eyeshadow
  • Mascara
  • Setting Spray
  • Lips

Lets get into the products that I use:

1. Base

Simple Moisturiser or Rimmel Primer

Simple Kind To Skin Light Moisturiser Hydrating 125 mLRimmel Lasting Finish Primer 30 mL

Moisturiser/primer is a must for making your face into a fresh canvas so the ‘paint’ (foundation etc.) easily holds and lasts.

2. Foundation

NYX Total Control Foundation or MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation

Nyx Professional Makeup Total Control Drop Foundation 13 mL

The NYX drop foundation has very good coverage for the price, you just have to watch out as this one is very runny and you can easily make a mess! I use my MAC foundation on days that are going to be longer than usual as I find it lasts longer than some of my other foundations. It’s also very expensive so it definitely should do just that! I put foundation all over my face using either a Nude By Nature brush, or a make-up sponge.

3. Concealer

Maybelline Master Conceal

Maybelline Master Concealer 12 mL

I’m not the biggest fan of this concealer, I’m just using it to use it up right now. It’s fine, but if anything it’s a little dark for my skin tone. Keep in mind I am pale AF. So it is always a challenge to find products that are light enough for my skin. I apply this on all blemishes/pimples, also on either side of my nose as that is a prone redness spot, and also under the eyes to help brighten.

4. Powder

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Waterproof Powder, Rimmel Stay Matte Powder or Physisians Formula Correcting Powder

The Maybelline Super Stay powder is great, it adds more colour to your complextion and really helps smooth out the skin. I use this when I think liquid foundation hasn’t done enough. I use the Rimmel powder to help set everything (I use this on it’s own, not with any other powder). And lastly the Physisians Formula powder is amazing for pale skin. It helps set make-up and corrects the colour of your face – this one is more expensive, so I only buy when on sale.

5. Eyebrows

NYX 3-in-1 Brow Pencil

Nyx Professional Makeup 3 In 1 Brow Pencil 1 ea

This is something I have only just started using. I have quite full brows as it is, so I just use this product to help fill them in. It is a great product, I would highly recommend.

6. Eye Primer

Rimmel Magniféyes Eye Primer

Rimmel MagniEyes Eye Primer 6 mL

This is another product I have only just started using. I pop this on my eyes before using eyeshadow as it helps it last longer throughout the day and prevents creasing. It does work, so I would recommend this product for that!

7. Bronzer

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder

01

This is my favourite bronzing product that I have been using for a while now. I have hit pan on it, so I will be in need of a new one soon! I would recommend for light skin as it’s not too dark.

8. Blush

Natio Luminous Blush Palette or Revolution Ultra Blush Palette in Sugar and Spice

I’ve always been a blush kinda gal. I usually use the bottom left colour on the Natio palette – this is great for a subtle bit of colour. On the Revolution palette, I mainly go for the pink in the top row. You have to be very sparing with these ones as they are very pigmented.

9. Highlighter

Soph’s Highlighter Palette or Mac Soft & Gentle Shimmer

Soph’s is my favourite highlighting palette. I usually go for the white in the top left corner – you know it’s good when you have hit pan. The Mac one isn’t really a highlighter, but adds pretty shimmer to the face, it can also be used all over.

10. Eyeshadow

Revlon Berry in Love Palette or Revolution Reloaded Palette

These two are quite new in my collection. I usually go for the brown colours, but it also depends on what I’m wearing for that day as I like to match! These are both easily blendable and pigmented.

11. Mascara

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Dramatic Volume Mascara

I have been using this product for quite a while, I feel like it should actually be running out soon. It’s quite good and doesn’t lump which is always a bonus for me.

12. Setting Spray

Rimmel Fix & Go 2-in-1 Setting Spray and Primer

Rimmel Insta Fix & Go Spray 100 mL

I feel like all setting sprays do the same thing (all the ones I’ve tried anyway) so I have been getting this one as it is more reasonably priced than the others I have used. It sets make-up and leaves your face feeling refreshed and ready for the day.

12. Lips

Vaseline

I am prone to getting dry lips constantly throughout the day, so I usually just use some Vaseline. It depends on how I’m feeling on the day, sometimes I will use lipstick. Though I am struggling to find one that doesn’t dry out my lips!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post, let me know your thoughts! If you have any of your own make-up tips, please let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!
