We all need these. I find doing these on a Sunday is great as it helps me unwind and refresh myself for the week ahead. I’m going to go through a few things I did on this particular self care day I had.
Tinted my eyebrows
To do this, I used my beloved Maybelline Tattoo Brow Gel Tint. You brush it onto your eyebrows and leave for 20 minutes. You then peel off. It’s as easy as that, and the tint lasts for a few days. I like to do this on a Sunday so they are fresh for the week.
Changed our bedding
As much as I kind of hate the feeling of fresh sheets, it is nice to put new sheets, doona cover and pillowcases on, on a Sunday. It’s also nice to wear fresh pyjamas.
Did a face mask
I hardly ever do face masks, just because I never really buy them or remember to do them. I only really do them while having a bath. I had a few samples from The Body Shop to use, so I decided to use one on this day. The one I picked out was the Mediterranean Almond Milk with Oats Instant Soothing Mask. It really was soothing, and made my face smooth after washing off. It is nice to do these every once in a while, at least.
Had a bath
I was having a bad bloating day this day, so I thought it might be a good idea to have a hot bath to give me some relief. I used a Lush bath bomb. I have totally forgotten what one it was, but I have added pictures above! As you will also be able to see below, the colour that it turned the water. On camera, it shows up as orange, but in real life it was more of a pink.
As well as the bath bomb, I also used some bubble bath from The Body Shop to help make a more bubbly bath. I used the British Rose Petal-Soft Bath Foam. We bought this a while ago when staying at a hotel for a wedding – we were upgraded a room with a spa bath so we HAD to go out and find some bubble bath!
Lose myself in some YouTube
While relaxing in the bath, and trying to get my mind off my bloating pain, I watched some YouTube off my iPad. Yes, it’s propped up with a tissue box haha. It is the perfect thing to use as it makes it the right height! Here I am watching Beauty Spectrum on YouTube, A.K.A Molly.
Covered myself in body butter and covered my hands in handcream
After getting out of the bath, I covered myself in Vanilla Chai Body Butter from The Body Shop, then covered my hands in Vanilla Chai Hand Cream, also from The Body Shop. These currently aren’t out in-store, so I can’t link them sadly! At this point I was smelling exactly like a chai latte, which made me crave one so bad – I haven’t had one in so long!
Did my full skincare routine
I would say I’m pretty good with my skincare routine, so this wasn’t anything out of the usual. I used exfoliator, cleanser, hydrating moisturiser and eye cream.
Ate a nutritious meal
Haha, just kidding. We had some chicken flavoured 2-minute noodles as that was what we felt like, and one of the few quick meals we had in the pantry.
Binged watched some TV
On this day I was binge watching My Kitchen Rules Australia – I love this show and continue to watch it every year. It has now finished for this year.
Those were all the things I got up to on my self care day! These are important to have. It’s always good to throw some exercise in as well, such as a 30-minute full-body workout, or a walk/run outdoors. On this particular day I didn’t do this, but I usually do most days anyway.
