I love winter. All the seasons are great in their own way, there is just something super cosy about winter. I am an autumn baby, so autumn holds a place in my heart. I love the colour the leaves on the trees turn and how the temperature slowly descends into winter. I love being able to put layers on, and if you get a little too warm you can always take one off. We are pretty far into winter, so I thought I would go through some of my favourite things about it.
-
Hot drinks
There is just something so satisfying with having a hot drink in winter, the main reason that it warms up your insides, which warms you up as a whole. A nice hot coffee, mocha or hazelnut latte also goes down a treat. Wearing a zipped up jacket with fluffy gloves walking down the street, holding a warm cup of something, bliss (when it is not raining of course, that is a whole different story!)
-
Warm Fluffy Socks
I am a big lover of fluffy socks, I am wearing some as I write this now. As long as your feet aren’t cold, you’re doing alright. There is something really uncomfortable about bare feet in winter.
-
Cosy Fires
I don’t get to be around fires much as we usually use heaters, and so do a lot of other people. When I go to my Aunties (she lives in the country) they have a couple of fire places up there. Usually when we go there in winter we go for a walk, all rugged up and with the dogs. When we get back we’ll have hot Milo in front of the fire. If you don’t know what Milo is, it is an Australian made chocolate malt drink. You can put it into hot or cold milk, or have it sprinkled on ice cream.
- Winter walks
I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I love walking in the winter, as long as it isn’t raining of course! I’ll go out wearing leggings, boots, a warm coat, a beanie and gloves. There is something so peaceful about walking in a cold winters evening when you can smell everyone’s hearty cooking throughout the neighbourhood. One thing that sucks about Australia is that we NEVER have snow, only in the mountains, but no one really lives up there its just for accommodation, skiing and snowboarding etc. It would be so fun building snowmen, doing snow angels and having snow ball fights.

Soup
Soup is great to have on a cold day or when you are sick. I like having it with crusty bread, it makes it that little bit more filling. When I was living back home my Mum made so many different soups – vegetable soup, chicken & corn soup, vegetable and chorizo soup, sweet potato soup and pea and ham soup. I have to say, by the end of the cold weather, I was OVER it!

Cosy Clothes
Time to bring out the jackets, scarves, beanies and gloves! My personal favourite is beanies. I can’t get through winter without them, as if I am walking in the cold too long without one I get a bad headache. Gloves are also a must for me, 90% of the time my hands are freezing, even in summer, as I have bad blood flow in them, so gloves are essential! - Cuddling!
There is no excuse for your dog/cat not to cuddle you now! Cuddling is a great way to keep warmer and reduce stress. So grab your significant other, dog, cat, blanket, whatever and get on cuddling! - Cosy Cafes
My favourite place to visit is very cold during winter, there is nothing better than walking around in the cold and then walking into a warm cafe with a fire place, where they serve hot drinks and fresh warm scones with jam & cream. Now I really want to go there…
That’s all the best wintery things I have for you today, I hope this made you crave cosiness with hot drinks & fresh scones! Let me know of your favourite things about winter below!

Totally agree with these.
I enjoy all seasons a lot and in England we tend to get proper seasons. Summer can be too hot for me as I’m ginger π€£ but I love it as it means family time, holidays and BBQs.
Autumn probably just edges out as my favourite though

You can always put lots of layers on, but in summer there is only so many layers you can take off π€£π

If I have to choose I would choose the cold lol. I hate summer. I donβt like being sweaty and I get darker! Seriously Iβm already brown as it is lol. I rather stay as a caramel than a mocha lol π but yeah sweat makes me break out more. I love me some hot coa coa and fluffy socks π§¦. Love tour post. Makes me feel like winter is real close.
