Another Book Haul… I Have A Problem

Hey everyone and welcome back to another book haul! Yes, another one πŸ˜‚ I am getting more and more obsessed with books! They have kept me going through lockdown which has been great. In this haul I got 4 books, they are all quite large ones and I like how they’re all the same size and line up nicely, They’re also pretty much the same type of genre. All of these were on my wish lists woohoo! 😊

The Stranger Inside by Laura Benedict

Thriller / Fiction / Mystery / Suspense / Adult

This one sounds SO good and I can’t wait to get stuck into it! Not sure how it will pan out, but very much looking forward to finding out.

“Kimber Hannon’s belief that she has complete control over her life is shattered the night that she comes home from a trip to find her key no longer opens her front door. There is a stranger living in her house. A stranger who claims he has every right to be there, with the paperwork to prove it. When she confronts the man, he lets her get close enough to whisper, “I was there. I saw what you did.”

She doesn’t know how he knows her, but with those words Kimber knows this stranger isn’t after anything as simple as her money or artwork or charming Craftsman bungalow. She has to find out exactly what he wants and get him out of her carefully orchestrated life before he ruins it.

There are plenty of people in her life who might help, but should Kimber trust any of them? Her lawyer, Gabriel, is also her ex-lover; Diana, her best friend, doesn’t know Kimber slept with her husband; her ex-husband has a new, happier life since leaving her; and her co-workers know she’ll do anything to get her next sale. And no one can know the real reason this man is in her house. Without trust, everyone’s a stranger….”

Lies Lies Lies by Adele Parks

Thriller / Fiction / Mystery / Adult / Suspense

This one sounds like it’s filled with so much drama, which I love. I mean, I like watching/reading things about peoples dramas, but I don’t want to have drama myself πŸ˜‚

“After years together, the arrival of longed-for daughter Millie sealed everything in place. They’re a happy little family of three.

So what if Simon drinks a bit too much sometimes–Daisy’s used to it. She knows he’s just letting off steam. Until one night at a party things spiral horribly out of control. And their happy little family of three will never be the same again.

In Lies, Lies, Lies, #1 Sunday Times bestselling author Adele Parks explores the darkest corners of a relationship in free fall in a mesmerizing tale of marriage and secrets.”

The Safe Place by Anna Downes

Thriller / Fiction / Mystery / Suspense / Adult

This one sounds like a great cosy mystery. I have no idea what to expect!

“Emily Proudman just lost her acting agent, her job, and her apartment in one miserable day.

Emily is desperate.

Scott Denny, a successful and charismatic CEO, has a problem that neither his business acumen nor vast wealth can fix. Until he meets Emily.

Emily is perfect.

Scott offers Emily a summer job as a housekeeper on his remote, beautiful French estate. Enchanted by his lovely wife Nina, and his eccentric young daughter, Aurelia, Emily falls headlong into this oasis of wine-soaked days by the pool. But soon Emily realizes that Scott and Nina are hiding dangerous secrets, and if she doesn’t play along, the consequences could be deadly.

Superbly tense and oozing with atmosphere, Anna Downs’s debut is the perfect summer suspense, with the modern gothic feel of Ruth Ware and the morally complex family dynamics of Lisa Jewell.

Welcome to paradise…will you ever be able to leave?”

Dirty Little Secrets by Jo Spain

Thriller / Mystery / Crime / Fiction / Suspense

This one sounds exciting, and sounds a bit like Those People by Louise Candlish. You can read my review on that book here.

“Death stalked the Vale.
In every corner, every whisper.
They just didn’t know it yet.

Six neighbours, six secrets, six reasons to want Olive Collins dead.

In the exclusive gated community of Withered Vale, people’s lives appear as perfect as their beautifully manicured lawns. Money, success, privilege – the residents have it all. Life is good.

There’s just one problem.

Olive Collins’ dead body has been rotting inside number four for the last three months. Her neighbours say they’re shocked at the discovery but nobody thought to check on her when she vanished from sight.

The police start to ask questions and the seemingly flawless facade begins to crack. Because, when it comes to Olive’s neighbours, it seems each of them has something to hide, something to lose and everything to gain from her death.”

Let me know in the comments below if you’ve read any of these! I can’t wait to start getting through them all 😊

All blurbs from Goodreads.

Hope you’re having a great day/night from where ever you are in the world, and thank you for checking out this post!
