Book Review – A Stranger In The House

Hi there and welcome to another book review! I recently got a book light (not sure why it’s taken me so long to get one lol), so I’ve been able to read a physical book in the lounge room finally at night time without light blaring in my eyes. Usually I just read before bed, but lately I have been reading at different times as I’ve really been into it lately! I think lockdown has made my love of books stronger! Anyway, the book I am reviewing today I really, really enjoyed!

A Stranger In The House by Shari Lapena

“Why would you run scared from a happy home?

You’re waiting for your beloved husband to get home from work. You’re making dinner, looking forward to hearing about his day.

That’s the last thing you remember.

You wake up in hospital, with no idea how you got there. They tell you that you were in an accident; you lost control of your car whilst driving in a dangerous part of town.

The police suspect you were up to no good. But your husband refuses to believe it. Your best friend isn’t so sure. And even you don’t know what to believe”

I thought I’d give Shari Lapena another crack, dispite not loving the previous book I read by her, as I really liked the sound of it. I’m glad I did!

This one was so good, I loved it. I don’t have a bad thing to say about it! Each chapter kept leaving me wanting more and it had a really good ending! I enjoyed this one much more than The Couple Next Door, you can read my review for that one here.

The book had three main characters, Tom, his wife Karen, and Karen’s best friend Bridgit (who also lived opposite them). You learn a bit about each character which was nice. The story was pretty easy to follow, even though there was a lot of things going on.

I liked how there was a twist in the book, and you find out more about it, bit by bit. There was also a little twist at the end that kept me wanting to read more!

I would highly recommend this one, I loved it. I am happy that it has a place on my bookshelf now.

The genre of this one is thriller, mystery, fiction, suspense & crime.

I rate this one a massive 10/10!

If you haven’t read this one already, and you’re a fan of thrillers, you NEED to check this one out!

If you have read it, let me know your thoughts in the comments 😊

Happy reading 📚
